Daily Schedule

Week of September 10-14, 2018
Last week we were reintroduced to operations with integers and this week we’ll dive into the world of fractions. Quite a bit of rules to follow, but I know you’ll catch on quickly. The video above will help break it down nicely!

Week of September 17-21, 2018 

Progress report night will be this Wednesday at Peter Piper Pizza from 4-6 pm.  If you need extra help with assignments or time to catch up come in during lunch.
Remember to be proactive! Please do not wait for the last minute to catch up on missing work. 
This week we will finish off operations with fractions and move on to Unit Rates! We will be having a mini assessment this week.

This week we will start on Unit Rates and Proportionality. This goes hand in hand with fractions which is what we finished going over last week.

Proportional Relationships and Constant of Proportionality

THURSDAY- Six Weeks Test for MATH!

Please turn in any and all late/missing assignments. If you feel like you might not be here the day of the test see me before so we can arrange a time for you to complete it.

Below you will see an example of a proportional table and graph. The equation would be y=3x

Week of October 8-12, 2018

2nd Six Weeks already! We are going to be starting with solving proportions and move on to converting measurments. 

Keep up with your work and always strive to show improvement!

The problem on the right is an example of what we will be doing this week. It will involve cross multiplication and division.

Veronica bought 5 apples for $12. How much would she pay if she bought 15 apples?

Fall Festival – Friday 26th!

This week we will be working with percent of change as well as markups and markdowns. The lesson applies to real world problems that occur daily such as pumping gas, buying groceries, or even monitoring progess on your grades.

October 29- November 2, 2018

  • Six Weeks Test on Friday and review the day before
  • Any missing assignments need to be turned in ASAP
  • If you need help with percent applications see me during lunch!

We will continue reviewing percent applications and have our six weeks test on Friday. You will have an extra week of work before the actual six weeks is over, but I want to test you on percent before moving on to a different topic. 

Have a restful 3 day weekend!

November 5-9, 2018

  • Six Weeks Test -MONDAY-

  • Turn in all missing assignments
  • LUNCH tutoring if you need it

This week we will cover simple interest and begin with similar figures.

November 12-16, 2018
- The beginning of the 3rd Six Weeks! Let’s make it a productive one

This week we will continue with similar figures and focus on indirect measurement and scale drawings! The video below will show you how to set up a proportion to find a missing side.
November 26-30, 2018

This week we will be starting on Probability. We will cover both Theoretical and Experimental Probability. The video below is a good intro. 

December 17-21, 2018

Last week’s benchmark results were overall great. There is definitely room for improvement and I completely believe you are up for the challenge.

This is the last week before the Christmas break and we could ALL use a break. Enjoy time with family and I look forward to seeing you in the New Year!

A little refresher on circumference and area of circles!

I hope you had a restful and happy holiday break! Now that you are recharged we are going to dive back into math.
This will be a three day week where I will have you do a “PI” puzzle and refresh your memory on circumference and area of circles. 
The rest of the week will be dedicated to introducing slope intercept, and refreshing your memory on plotting points on a graph.
January 14-8, 2019
During this time we will be covering slope-intercept form graphing, and solving/modeling/wrtiting two step equations.
I have tutoring available if you need extra help with assignments or a particular lesson. Do not hesitate to ask.
